How often should the fuel filters in my Detroit diesel be changed?

It depends on your mileage and in what time frame you travel it in, the condition of your fuel, the treatment of your fuel, etc.

On my trucks that sit for extended periods of time, I run the tank of fuel from storage as low as possible, refill and then change the filters.

SO short answer, for most RV applications, yearly.

I'm with JW on this one. OTOH, I ran mine for 5 years before I changed it, but that was only about 5000 miles. Good house keeping would say yearly.  I also carry a spare with me.  When you change use your spare and keep the new one for your emergency replacement.

How about oil guys?  I only ran about 3000 miles this year dipstick is still clean. We drive the truck at lest every 2-weeks.

Bronco,
I am for installing a Spinner II and never changing it again.  With no more load than the "RV" truck sees, I think 20,000 regardless of time,
unless you leave it stored for extended periods without running it, where you may have a condensation issue.

There are several members here who go the extra mile and schedule based on analysis from oil sampling, that may have a different opinion.  It is mostly a matter of preference and where your budget lies, without commercial type use.

I was thinking all filters and oil once a year.  But at $300. a shot kind of a waste Filters only maybe the best bet.
